Choosing the correct amount of laminate flooring is key to achieving a professional finish while keeping waste to a minimum. Laminate flooring is supplied in packs, with each pack covering a specific area measured in square metres (m²).
How to Measure Your Room
- Measure the longest length of your room.
- Measure the widest point of your room.
- Multiply the length by the width to calculate the total area in square metres (m²).
- We recommend adding an extra 5–10% to allow for cuts, wastage, and future repairs.
Example
If your room measures:
- Length: 5m
- Width: 4m
Your room size is 20m².
For Straight planks or tiles please add 10% extra means you'll need approximately 22m² of laminate flooring. We can help work out exactly how many packs this equates to based on your chosen product.
For Herringbone Designs please add 20%
We do not accept returns for excess packs of flooring ordered.
How Laminate is Supplied
Laminate flooring is sold in packs, and each pack covers a different area depending on the product. The pack coverage is listed on each product page, making it easy to calculate how many you'll need.
Helpful Tips
- Always order enough flooring to complete the room in one go.
- Keep a few spare boards after installation in case you ever need to replace a damaged plank.
- If your room has alcoves, bay windows or an unusual shape, measure the longest and widest points to ensure you order enough.
